The poem for tonight
is a shambles
structure of clever phrases akimbo
crumbling walls of violent emotion
darting images like hungry dogs
all submerged in a dark pool
of swirling words words words

Just now it became Tuesday
a wave of new identity
sweeping the face of the world
like a fresh shadow
darkness layered
onto darkness
I'll need clever hounds indeed to track
what I seek in this chaos
