Dear Earth
I return to you this sweetest of souls
Whose life was as nectar upon my tongue
A small thing, lovely
Lively and full of light
She comes home, Earth
A shell that held this wonderful life
As I have held her in the mystery of night
And curled with her into the answer of sleep
She sleeps now with you
On the long journey home
Curling into your answer of clay and root
Dreaming deeper dreams
In the night of long darkness
And the day of new life

A poem about loss
Wrote this back in November of '05. It is about saying goodbye. I decided to transcribe it because I like some of the phrasing.

A well said sense of memory,
A well said sense of memory, longing and letting go.
